Maya and Rich – Hacienda Zorita

Not sure where to start with this one! When Rich emailed to see if we were free to film his and Maya’s wedding we were excited about it right from the start. Not only was the wedding a wonderful mixture of Hindu and Christian, but it was set over three days in the stunningly beautiful vineyard of Hacienda Zorita, near Salamanca in Northern Spain….so we were over the moon when they said they wanted to book.

Maya and Rich had planned the wedding weekend to perfection (well, probably more Maya…I think Rich was given the task of planning the “V”s…videographer and vicar…but we all know these are the most important parts right?…) They were joined by friends and family from all over the world and everyone came with the spirit of love and enjoyment, it was such a great weekend. Rich and Maya have a strong sense of fun and adventure (Rich travelled around the world in a TukTuk to raise money for an education programme), so it was never going to be your average wedding.  Even though I was jet lagged from flying in from Bali the day before, the atmosphere and welcoming nature of everyone there just made the whole weekend such a pleasure to film and experience. We loved the mixture of traditions and faiths, all with a Spanish twist. The sun shone and the food and wine were amazing. The Hacienda staff did an fabulous job at putting on this epic three day event.

We were joined by the wonderfully lovely Deborah Panes and assistant Jonty who were photographing the events alongside us. It is so great to meet people with like minds and who are easy and fun to work alongside…it really does make for such a great team. Thanks both for being so lovely and I really enjoyed our beers with the vicar in Salamanca town ;)   Deb’s also has a super talented brother, Roo Panes, who you sang the song in the clip…he’s one to watch!

With the help of a DJ flown in from the Canaries, every day was finished off with a proper good party and the dance floor was always full. Thanks both for being so great and happy and fun to be around….we wish you luck in your future travels and adventures together! xx

Suzanne and Sam – Aspen, Colorado

I often gush/bore my friends about the amazing weddings I am lucky enough to go to, and the wonderful people I meet and places I see…but this one is right up there, quite literally. I was so lucky to get to spend a week in the beautiful area that is Aspen, Colorado; to film Suzanne and Sam get married. Sam is a friend of another couple we filmed (Ashley and Daniel) earlier in the year and I was so excited when Sam emailed to see if I might be free to film his wedding too.

Sam and Suzanne live in HongKong, but travelled across to Aspen for their wedding weekend. They had chosen to have their ceremony and reception on top of Aspen mountain , on the beautiful SunDeck. They were joined by friends and family from all over the world, all coming to celebrate this wonderful couple. Apart from the views being simply amazing, the whole weekend had such a happy, excited, joyful and loving atmosphere…it really was perfect. They both have very special families.

The couple had some planning help in the form of EKS events, who kept everything running smoothly, including the cable car rides up the mountain (a personal first at a wedding!) and we were joined by the super talented Thayer Gowdy on the photography side…they were a dream to work with and made me giggle, always a bonus!

The Ceremony and Speeches were heartfelt and funny, the dancing unhindered, the sun shone, the smiles were plenty…thank you both so much for having us; it was an amazing week and a trip I won’t forget in a hurry. We wish you both all the luck and love in the world for your future together x

Sara and Matthew – Notley Abbey

A beautiful summery wedding at Notley Abbey, which we filmed alongside photographer Philippa James (who was fab!). Sara and Matthew have lived all around the world (currently in Mexico I think!) and have had a wonderful education in life and people, making them a great couple to be around.  They met at school and their friendship has blossomed into the beautiful relationship they have today. They are supported by a truly loving and welcoming family on both sides.

Sara’s stunning dress was from Suzanne Neville, and she looked amazing. The ceremony took place at The Oratory Church in Oxford, after which everybody wen on to the beautiful Notley Abbey.  Entertainment was provided by The Vernon Sisters, who were so lovely to be around.

Thank you both for letting us be a part of your day and hearing your stories (great speeches!). We wish you all the luck in your future life and travels together. xx

Vicky and Ed – Cricket St Thomas

We are so lucky…because we get to meet and film lovely people all the time, and Vicky and Ed are right up there in our lovely people ranks! This wedding was so much fun from start to finish, with a wonderful energy and free spirit, so reflective of Vicky and Ed themselves.

They got married at the beautiful little church at Cricket St Thomas, Somerset, the village where Ed’s parents live and where in fact, Ed and Vicky are building their own home (like you do, before you get married?!) Their building project has just been shown on one of our favourite programmes…Grand Designs (heres’ the link if you fancy a watch!) I’m pretty sure  the fact they’ve been filmed for a year helped them to be totally natural on the day while they were being photographed and filmed. In fact, one of the things I love best about this wedding was the way they both let go and just enjoyed the day, the weather, their friends, their families, the music without worrying about the details.

They had both worked incredibly hard in the run up to the wedding to convert a barn currently used by animals and full of poo, into a beautiful country wedding reception venue. They did an incredible job!! Ed, being a chef, even cooked the food for their own wedding breakfast…talk about DIY wedding! We were blessed with some amazing weather and everyone had a wonderful day. Their good friend even provided the transport with his families vintage car…a surprise for Vicky. We also got to see one of our very early couples from when we first started filming, Lucy and Jonny. So lovely to see you both again, hope we meet again soon!

Vicky looked beautiful in her dress by Jesus Piero from Blackburn Bridal, her gorgeous bouquet was by Raindrop Flowers (and lots of flowers provided and arranged by family too!) We were joined by Marshal Gray photographers and the evening entrainment was provided by the amazing Cash Cows who kept the party going into the early hours of the morning., dancing amongst the hay bales.

Thank you both for a wonderful wedding, keep on being happy and full of energy and ideas. We loved every minute! x

Sophie and Farhod – Babington House

We’re back at Babington… Yay!!! Always a pleasure to film here and one of our all time favourite venues, who yet again, put on wonderful day for Sophie and Farhod. We loved this wedding so, so much. Sophie and Farhod are such lovely, warm, happy people, it was such a joy to film them and be around their families. They literally didn’t stop smiling the whole day…and dancing…always dancing!

What I loved about them the most was that they didn’t get worried about the day running smoothly, or stressing about the details, or what didn’t go as planned (not that anything didn’t), but instead they just had fun all day, and laughed and cried and smiled and danced. It’s so fabulous to see and you can’t help but smile with them. I loved how Sophie and Farhod had a spontaneous dance on the lawn to Babington DJ Nigel’s tunes. (and I love that they had house music on the lawns in the first place :)) They made their wedding their own by just being themselves and that’s what was so great about the day.

Sophie chose a stunning, unembellished dress by Stephanie Allin Couture, which she paired with a gold belt and gold Jimmy Choo’s. She looked stunning and had a permeant smile on her face all day. Farhod looked handsome in his dark suit and beautiful flowers by Passion and Susie Edwards adorned the tables and ceremony room. Farhod’s family is from Iran originally so they were lucky to have members of their family travel to join them from all over the world. I love weddings with different cultural twists and relatives from the Middle East are guaranteed to bring a bit of glamour and dancing :)  A close friend of the couple, Emily,  made all beautiful the stationary for them…

Great speeches (Farhod’s Dad should do stand up…sorry to encourage him!) were followed by full on dancing in the bar, with the help of Nigel again, who never fails to get everyone dancing. Bella West joined us for photography and she was a pleasure to work with, hope we meet again!

Thank you both for being so fun and alive and full of love. We wish you all the best for your future together and maybe we’ll bump into you dancing on a beach somewhere ;) xx

Charlotte and Gerard – Babington House

It’s been a while but we’ve blogged…and what a beautiful wedding to return with. We adore Babington, it’s our favourite UK venue for so many reasons. The staff are amazing, the food delicious, the decor relaxed and welcoming, but also it just attracts the best couples to hold their weddings there!

Charlotte and Gerard are no exception and we were delighted to come back to Babington to film their wedding. As usual everything looked amazing, ran smoothly and the day was full of smiles, laughter and fun. We even had sunshine!  We got to work with one of our favourite photographers; Amy Murrell, who we get to see a few times each year and it’s always a pleasure.

Charlotte looked elegant and beautiful in her delicate dress by Sarah Seven, finished off with gorgeous Jimmy Choo’s.  Gerard chose a bespoke suit from Tom Fox which complimented Charlotte perfectly. The ever wonderful florists, Passion worked their magic on the day making the place smell and look delightful.

In the evening we were entertained by Atlantica, a brilliant live band, followed by Nigel, the usual Babington House DJ, who took control of the party in the evening, which always means the dance floor is packed and the night rolls on into the early hours (great to see you again!)

Thank you both for being so lovely and easy to work with, it was a joy all day. We wish you lots of luck, health and happiness in your future together xx

Ellie and Ryan – MC Motors, London

This wedding is right up there on party scale…we loved it!!! Ellie and Ryan were a complete joy to be around, and so were all their guests and family..the whole day was one big party from start to finish…how many weddings include Mariachi, bus bingo, tequila go pro, men wearing lipstick, stetsons and nail transfers of the grooms face that have the registrar in hysterics?? Well this one had them all!

Ellie and Ryan got married at one of our favourites…Islington Town Hall, which I think has the most accommodating, friendly registrars we’ve come across, they never fail to be amazing. It was fun filled from the start and the point where they exchanged rings and the registrar spotted the nail transfer will stay with me forever!  Routemasters then took took the guests (with some X-rated bus bingo along the way) to MC Motors for their reception. This is a great venue, allowing couples the space and freedom to style it as they please. They did a marvellous job and it looked amazing. Pretty lights, Mexican details, gorgeous flowers…all set the scene for a top party.

Lots of music followed, with a great band in the afternoon, a Mariachi band in the evening (the ones of the Doritos ad!) and then the classic Wedding Smashers to kick the dancing off. The party was tequila fuelled with a go-pro strapped to the bottle to capture all the mayhem…love it!!

Ellie and Ryan were such a great reminder about what a wedding should be about…mainly fun and happiness. They made sure everyone felt welcome, everyone was happy and above all the whole wedding was full of smiles and laughter. They were also completely relaxed and I don’t think could have cared less if something went wrong, or something was not quite as planned…this was about having a great time with the people they love the most and for that we love you back!! xx

Ashley and Daniel – The Fig House, Los Angeles

We have been looking forward to sharing the love on this wedding for a while now…this is one of our all time favourites! Not just because we got to travel to one of our favourite places in America, or managed to fit in visits to the beaches and hikes in the Canyons, but because Daniel and Ashley are just one of the sweetest, kindest, gentlest couples you’ll ever meet…and they are so much in love!!

Daniel was best man to a previous couple we filmed, who were married in London (Sophie and Michael), and it always adds to the day when we’ll get to see people we know again, we immediately felt at home. Indeed Michael was Daniel’s best man this time around. I remember Ashley from that wedding too as she led the surprise flash dance on the dance floor, so we knew it was going to be good before we’d even got there!

Ashley’s family still live in LA, so they both got ready at the gorgeous Mr C Hotel in Beverly Hills, and had their beautiful first look on the roof terrace with amazing views of the LA skyline in the distance. Ashley looked stunning in her elegant, floaty dress and Jimmy Choo‘s, while Daniel looked handsome in his dark blue suit. They just beamed when they saw each other and I hold my hands up to shedding a little tear (very quietly!). They were both so relaxed, calm and considerate, such a pleasure to be around.

From Mr C’s, we headed to the wedding venue across town. I’d seen The Fig House before and was so excited to be filming a wedding there, it’s a great space. Ashely and Daniel had the wonderful ladies from So Happi Together organising the day…they were the best! They made our job easy and they were funny at the same time…what more could you want from a wedding planner?!

A family friend conducted the moving ceremony which was followed some amazing cocktails and tunes from The Flash Dance DJ Michael. We were joined by Max and friends photographers, whose work is beautiful. We loved working with you and hope our paths cross again somewhere!

We loved this wedding so much, the day flew for us and it felt like it had been a couple of hours….always a good sign. Ashley and Daniel, we wish you so much luck in your future together, thank you for being so lovely and in love..we’ll see you in Colorado! xx

Ali and Leigh – Florida, USA

We love to travel…it’s one of the best things about our job; meeting new people, seeing new places and going on adventures every weekend. This one was extra special as I already knew Ali as a colleague and friend, so we were just beyond thrilled to get to travel to Orlando to film her and Leigh’s wedding. Now Ali and Leigh are a little bit Disney obsessed….I have to hold my hands up and say Disney is not my thing, but I also have to admit I am a little bit converted now, especially after the whole wedding party  spent the most magical evening watching the fireworks at Epcot after the ceremony earlier in the day.

Ali and Leigh were joined for their wedding by their close family and friends, who helped celebrate their unique day. We all stayed at the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel in the run up to the big day, which is where Ali and Leigh started the wedding day off with prep in the morning. We then all headed over to their ceremony venue, the beautiful Cypress Grove Estate House, which is set in tall trees on the edge of a lake…it’s stunning.

The ceremony was conducted by Glynn Ferguson and we were joined by the lovely Kritsa from Kristen Weaver Photography. They were a joy to work with and so lovely. Ali looked stunning in her dress from my local – Stamford Bridal Rooms, finished off with a pair of sparkly Kurt Geiger‘s. Beautiful flowers were provided by Lee Forest Designs and the furniture and styling by RW Events.

The whole team put on a wonderful day for everyone and we managed to squeeze a whole wedding day into about 6 hours….which meant we could then hit Disney!  By chance Beccy and I had been persuaded to upgrade our car rental to a very understated bright red Mustang convertible (now an absolute requirement for all our car rentals in the US) which we used as Ali and Leigh’s wedding transport to Disney (I am also now available as a chauffeur). I think one of my favourite memories from the day was watching them both in the back seat, newly married, huge grins, wind in their hair, heading towards The Magic Kingdom!

We then spent the rest of the afternoon and evening visiting Disney, being congratulated by strangers (and getting hugs from little girls who were convinced Ali was an actual real life princess), rounding off the night watching the amazing firework display at Epcot, whilst standing in England eating fish and chips!

You two were such a joy to be around, thank you so much for having us with you for your beautiful day, we’ll never forget it. We wish you all the luck and love in the world for your future together and can’t wait to see what yoyo both do next xx

Bear and Daniel – Malton, Yorkshire

We loved this wedding so, so much! I knew it was going to be good from the moment Bear emailed, as she just happened the be the lady who created the gorgeous wedding ring of one of our other brides (Bryony and Ed). Bear is a jeweller (Bear Brooksbank) and Daniel works in design, so it’s always going to be a creative wedding.

The whole day took place at Menethorpe Hall, Bear’s childhood home, with their ceremony at a local church. Daniel got ready at the Talbot Hotel in Malton, the pretty North Yorkshire market town. Bear had a house full of family and friends helping her get ready, and she chose the most original and beautiful dress, which she helped design, by Jacqueline Byrne based in London. It was a concoction of painted layers, lace and feathers…it was stunning! Of course Bear made her own jewellery to and she looked amazing. The bridesmaid were treated to Temperley dresses too.

Following the ceremony, where it tried it’s best to snow as Bear arrived at the church, the reception was held back at Menethorpe Hall, with champagne, canapés and some emotional and heartfelt speeches. The party continued into the evening with a surprise for the guests in the form of a live band who had been set up in the now converted party barn. The guests didn’t need much encouragement and a great party kicked off, which I’m pretty sure lasted well into the early hours.

We were joined on the day by the very lovely Pete Henderson from Nottingham who was the photographer on the day. Such a pleasure to work with, hope we meet again!

Thank you Bear and Daniel, we had a fantastic time and love your energy and smiles. Here’s to an amazing and healthy future for you both xx
