New post, and this one was special – Seychelles elopement wedding video

Well, where to start…getting a wedding video enquiry for the Seychelles is enough to make anyone squeal, but knowing that this was a chance to return to this special corner of the world for a second time for a wedding was amazing. Of course I jumped at the chance and was so lucky that Jana and Sebastian chose to book me to  make their Seychelles elopement wedding video. It was  to be on Mahe, at the simply beautiful Banyan Tree.  It really was a dream come true again.

Jana and Sebastian also turned out to be the most lovely, gentle, genuine and friendly people I could have hoped to film. They are both from Germany and decided that they wanted their wedding to be about them as a couple rather than feeling they had to do the traditional wedding day back home. They just wanted to do it their way, and what a way to do it!

The setting is idyllic – the sea and sand pristine, surrounded by palm trees, exotic plants, lush green everywhere. Jana and Sebastian spent the day before the wedding exploring the island and the main town, with a trip to the local market where they bought a years supply of chilies! We then spent the afternoon on a Catamaran sailing round Mahe and stopping off for snorkelling on the coral reefs….not a bad day really!

The wedding day

The following day Jana and Sebastian had their ceremony on the beach at the Banyan Tree, which had been set up by the wonderful staff that work there. It was completely perfect and very moving. I loved watching these two people say their vows with no fuss or stress…just the sound of the waves and birds in the background. They both looked so happy and at peace with each other. When they had planted their symbolic tree, they then had the afternoon to wander the resort, with me and their photographer, the very lovely and funny Wil, of Pear Tree Photography, who had flown in from South Africa to join us. He was a joy to work with and we had a great day.

The evening saw the most exquisite light on the beach at sunset…totally dreamy. Jana and Sebastian then enjoyed a private meal on the beach together. I can’t thank you enough for letting us be with you on such an amazing and intimate day, it really did feel such a privilege and something I will never forget. Here’s to an wonderful life together, and stay in touch! X
