Jacquetta and Elliot – Hotel Cipriani, Venice

Jacquetta and Elliot, who travelled all the way from California, held their intimate and romantic destination wedding at the Venetian classic; the Hotel Cipriani (fave hangout of Clooney no less) followed by the sumptuous Hotel Metropole for the reception and evening meal. The whole day was planned with the help of super talented and lovely Eva from Chic weddings, and the theme of glamour and rich, deep colours suited the venues perfectly.

Jacquetta and Elliot got ready at Hotel Cipriani with their ceremony being held on the lawns overlooking the vast canals. Jacquetta chose a beautiful burgundy Vera Wang wedding dress and feathered Manolo Blahniks which were the perfect compliment to the whole setting and styling…she looked amazing! A friend of the couple conducted the ceremony and both Jacquetta and Elliot exchanged their own, heartfelt wedding vows. A champagne reception followed where guests donned Venetian masquerade masks, before everyone was transported by boat to the Hotel Metropole. Jacquetta and Elliot took some time out to visit the stunning Saint Mark Square and Cafe Florian. They even managed to dance in the middle of the square to passerby’s smiles and congratulations.

The wedding meal was exquisitely styled again by Eva, with beautiful flowers by Tea Rose Events. A delicious 10 course meal and speeches followed, before dancing and more drinks. The wedding party then finished the evening late with a visit to the famous casino of Venice…what a day! We were accompanied by the very lovely Lindsay Madden who was the photographer, from New York. She was a delight to work alongside as were Eva and Sara from Chic weddings.

Thank you so much Jacquetta and Elliot for letting us be a part of your day, we wish you much love and happiness in the future! X

Destination weddings – Castiglion del Bosco, Tuscany

We’ve just got back from a rather amazing wedding at the beautiful, breathtaking Castiglion Del Bosco, just outside Montalcino, Tuscany for our favourite Italians – Chic Weddings. We’ve filmed in Tuscany a few times but this place was stunning and the food was heavenly. We were lucky enough to be filming along side the super photographer talent that is Jose Villa…who is not only fabulous at what he does but he and his husband Joel really were one of the most lovely, funny, happy, considerate photographers we’ve worked with. I hope we do again soon!  Here a few shots of the surrounding area and venue…more to come soon too!(Pictures courtesy of my faithful assistant and lovely friend Beccy Goddard)

Flora and Terris – Tuscany

This is the first of two weddings we are blogging today where we got to work with the fabulous, creative and lovely Eva from Chic Weddings. She has beautiful taste and we love her for it :)

Flora and Terris, who currently live in Hong Kong, chose to get married in the rolling Tuscan hills, at Castello di Vicarello, which is simply quite breath taking. It has incredible views and is such a romantic and elegant place to be married. The rooms are stuffed full of antiques and gorgeous furniture, the courtyard is festooned with vines and grapes and the lawns in the gardens have the perfect backdrop for evening dancing and twinkly lights.

Flora had a beautiful Valentino dress (yes, it was rather lovely!) set off with her Mothers antique jewellery and Terris looked handsome in white dinner jacket and black tie.Their guests were bubbly and lots of fun, live music in the evening played on the lawns with much dancing, delicious food and cake, huge amounts of wine…it was a top wedding! Eva and her team made the day run perfectly and the table styling was so pretty (pheasant feathers, crackled glass and candles everywhere). The photographer was Lisa Poggi, a regular in the area, who was a pleasure to work with.

It’s such an honour to be able to travel to these beautiful places for weddings, we thank Flora and Terris for letting us be part of their amazing day, and look forward to returning to Tuscany again this year.
