Shona and Jonny – Crossbasket Castle

Scotland!! We love a Scottish wedding, so we were so excited when Shona emailed us to see if we were free to film her wedding at Crossbasket Castle….of course we were!

The whole day was wonderful, both families so friendly and welcoming, and you can see just how important they all are to each other. Family was a big theme on the day and it made it very special. From the venue to the weather (the day previous was thick fog and rain!) it all came together to make a gorgeous day.

Shona chose the brilliant Jesus Peiro for her dress, one of my favourite designers, paired with Manolo Blahs shoes. The bridesmaids wore Maids to Measure dresses in a beautiful dusty pink colour. Flowers on the day were by Mood Flowers, who did a wonderful job. Make up was by Complection Perfection (not that they needed much….)

Jonny wore a kilt teamed with waist coat and jacket by Andrew Brookes tailor. His whole team of ushers wore kilts too…they looked pretty sharp!

After the heartfelt ceremony the pair left the church in a family sports car, complete with tin cans trailing behind, and led the guests back to Crossbasket Castle. The sun shone and we able to enjoy drinks on the terrace before heading into the reception inside.

The beautiful cake was made by Heathers Cakes and the entertainment in the evening included a traditional Ceilidh (our fave!!) and live music by Callanish. We left them in full swing and they no doubt partied the night away.

Www were fined by Euan Roberston who was the photographer on the day. He was an absolute delight to work with, hope we see you again somewhere Euan!

Thank you so much Shona and Jonny for having us with you; you made us feel so welcome and part of the day, it was a total pleasure to meet you all and share the day with you. Lots of luck and love for your future together xx

Antonietta and Matthew – RSA

We love being asked back to film family of past couples, it’s the best! Especially when they’re as lovely as Antonietta and Matthew. We first met them a few years ago when we filmed the  wedding to the lovely Kat and Tom, and it’s with great admiration that we’ve seen Kat become a highly respected and talented wedding planner….so we were doubly excited to be asked to film this wedding!   We knew that with Kat behind the planning it was going to be a fabulous day….and it was.

Annie and Matt chose the wonderful RSA as their wedding and reception venue, which is right in the heart of London, of the Strand. It’s a beautiful space and perfect for a city wedding. They both got ready at the equally lovely Mondrian Hotel, which has incredible views of the Thames and St Paul’s. With the help (though not much needed!) of Jo, who did the beautiful hair and make up,  Annie looked stunning in her Suzanne Neville dress. Not forgetting of course Matt and their gorgeous son, who both looked the part too in their suits and black bow ties. A beautiful ceremony and fun filled afternoon lay ahead, and it was so lovely to see these two people share their day with their nearest and dearest.

A who’s who list of suppliers helped make the day look and feel perfect; the flowers were provided by Blue Sky Flowers, amazing gold leafed cake by Couture Cakes, Vowed and Amazed lights, Say Fromage photo booth and wonderful entertainment in the day by the beautiful sounding Charlotte Campbell, with our regular DJ who we always bump in to….Matt Maurice!  Last but not least, we got the chance to work with one of our favourite photographers again (and his equally lovely wife this time), David Jenkins…..thanks for being so much fun to work with, hope we meet again soon!

Annie and Matt, thank you for having us share your day, we which you three lots of luck and love in your future together, and thanks Kat for helping everything run as smoothly as it did. xx

Vicky and Ed – Cricket St Thomas

We are so lucky…because we get to meet and film lovely people all the time, and Vicky and Ed are right up there in our lovely people ranks! This wedding was so much fun from start to finish, with a wonderful energy and free spirit, so reflective of Vicky and Ed themselves.

They got married at the beautiful little church at Cricket St Thomas, Somerset, the village where Ed’s parents live and where in fact, Ed and Vicky are building their own home (like you do, before you get married?!) Their building project has just been shown on one of our favourite programmes…Grand Designs (heres’ the link if you fancy a watch!) I’m pretty sure  the fact they’ve been filmed for a year helped them to be totally natural on the day while they were being photographed and filmed. In fact, one of the things I love best about this wedding was the way they both let go and just enjoyed the day, the weather, their friends, their families, the music without worrying about the details.

They had both worked incredibly hard in the run up to the wedding to convert a barn currently used by animals and full of poo, into a beautiful country wedding reception venue. They did an incredible job!! Ed, being a chef, even cooked the food for their own wedding breakfast…talk about DIY wedding! We were blessed with some amazing weather and everyone had a wonderful day. Their good friend even provided the transport with his families vintage car…a surprise for Vicky. We also got to see one of our very early couples from when we first started filming, Lucy and Jonny. So lovely to see you both again, hope we meet again soon!

Vicky looked beautiful in her dress by Jesus Piero from Blackburn Bridal, her gorgeous bouquet was by Raindrop Flowers (and lots of flowers provided and arranged by family too!) We were joined by Marshal Gray photographers and the evening entrainment was provided by the amazing Cash Cows who kept the party going into the early hours of the morning., dancing amongst the hay bales.

Thank you both for a wonderful wedding, keep on being happy and full of energy and ideas. We loved every minute! x

Bear and Daniel – Malton, Yorkshire

We loved this wedding so, so much! I knew it was going to be good from the moment Bear emailed, as she just happened the be the lady who created the gorgeous wedding ring of one of our other brides (Bryony and Ed). Bear is a jeweller (Bear Brooksbank) and Daniel works in design, so it’s always going to be a creative wedding.

The whole day took place at Menethorpe Hall, Bear’s childhood home, with their ceremony at a local church. Daniel got ready at the Talbot Hotel in Malton, the pretty North Yorkshire market town. Bear had a house full of family and friends helping her get ready, and she chose the most original and beautiful dress, which she helped design, by Jacqueline Byrne based in London. It was a concoction of painted layers, lace and feathers…it was stunning! Of course Bear made her own jewellery to and she looked amazing. The bridesmaid were treated to Temperley dresses too.

Following the ceremony, where it tried it’s best to snow as Bear arrived at the church, the reception was held back at Menethorpe Hall, with champagne, canapés and some emotional and heartfelt speeches. The party continued into the evening with a surprise for the guests in the form of a live band who had been set up in the now converted party barn. The guests didn’t need much encouragement and a great party kicked off, which I’m pretty sure lasted well into the early hours.

We were joined on the day by the very lovely Pete Henderson from Nottingham who was the photographer on the day. Such a pleasure to work with, hope we meet again!

Thank you Bear and Daniel, we had a fantastic time and love your energy and smiles. Here’s to an amazing and healthy future for you both xx

Jacquetta and Elliot – Hotel Cipriani, Venice

Jacquetta and Elliot, who travelled all the way from California, held their intimate and romantic destination wedding at the Venetian classic; the Hotel Cipriani (fave hangout of Clooney no less) followed by the sumptuous Hotel Metropole for the reception and evening meal. The whole day was planned with the help of super talented and lovely Eva from Chic weddings, and the theme of glamour and rich, deep colours suited the venues perfectly.

Jacquetta and Elliot got ready at Hotel Cipriani with their ceremony being held on the lawns overlooking the vast canals. Jacquetta chose a beautiful burgundy Vera Wang wedding dress and feathered Manolo Blahniks which were the perfect compliment to the whole setting and styling…she looked amazing! A friend of the couple conducted the ceremony and both Jacquetta and Elliot exchanged their own, heartfelt wedding vows. A champagne reception followed where guests donned Venetian masquerade masks, before everyone was transported by boat to the Hotel Metropole. Jacquetta and Elliot took some time out to visit the stunning Saint Mark Square and Cafe Florian. They even managed to dance in the middle of the square to passerby’s smiles and congratulations.

The wedding meal was exquisitely styled again by Eva, with beautiful flowers by Tea Rose Events. A delicious 10 course meal and speeches followed, before dancing and more drinks. The wedding party then finished the evening late with a visit to the famous casino of Venice…what a day! We were accompanied by the very lovely Lindsay Madden who was the photographer, from New York. She was a delight to work alongside as were Eva and Sara from Chic weddings.

Thank you so much Jacquetta and Elliot for letting us be a part of your day, we wish you much love and happiness in the future! X

Larissa and Andy – Mandarin Oriental, London

A very quick video post of the beautiful Larissa (who hails from Brazil) and Andy’s wedding which took place in central London, with their reception at the ever elegant Mandarin Oriental, Knightsbridge (always a pleasure to film there!) Congratulations both! X

Louise and Andy, Lincolnshire

The second Scottish influenced wedding today is the wonderful Louise and Andy and their beautiful, fun, happy wedding at Louise’s family home in Lincolnshire. Now Andy is a writer and Louise is reads drama TV scripts for  BBC Worldwide, so writing a blog entry for them needs me to think carefully about what to say…but really, the whole day was just one big, fat smile (if I had to sum it up)…oh, with a bit of cricket thrown in. Louise is the first bride we’ve filmed that’s played cricket on her wedding day! They were just genuinely a very happy couple and very obviously in love. (plus I think Andy is one of the more emotional grooms we’ve had for a while, which is just fabulous!)

Louise got ready at her parents’ house with her family while Andy got ready at the local Inn. Louise chose the ever beautiful Sassi Holford and looked stunning. Andy wore his family kilt…you looked stunning too Andy! They then had their ceremony at the church where Louise’s Great Grandfather was vicar, which was such a lovely thing to be able to do. Their vicar, Val and Andy’s family Minister conducted the ceremony, which really was touching and very personal. The couple then led the guests back to the family home for the reception on the lawns of the garden. It was a gorgeous day, people smiled, great food was eaten and the whole atmosphere was one of laid back happiness…perfect.

The party was kicked off by the amazing Earth, Lights Boogie Band, who entertained the guests late into the evening. Photographer on the day was Andy Fletcher, who was very easy to work with.

Louise and Andy, you were an absolute pleasure to be around, as were your families. Thank you for having us around you on the day, your kind and happy natures shone through and we hope you will both continue to be happy and in love xx

Rachel and Steve – Tunnels Beach

This is our first trip to Tunnels and hopefully not our last…it really is a beautiful venue and the weather for this wedding was perfect…sparkly seas and blue skies…gorgeous!

Rachel and Steve are a lovely, laid back couple and their choice of venue was spot on for them. The whole day was relaxed and fun, and they were surrounded by close family and lots of friends. We made the best use of the beach where the lighting was soft pretty and the spray from the sea couldn’t help but make everything look dreamy and romantic!

They both got ready at Tides, which is set on the cliff overlooking Tunnels…again a fantastic space to film in, so much light everywhere. It was a short camper van ride down the hill to the Ceremony. Ice cream and canapés followed and we were entertained by the very talented Roger Styles “guitar man”…a real pleasure to listen to!

Rachel and Steve are a great match, they’ve been together forever (about 16 years…or was it 17, or 18??!) and I know will have a great life together ahead of them. Thank you for having us along on the day and sharing this special place with us xx

Sarah and Will – Glanusk Estate

Say hello to one of the most gentle , kind natured couples we’ve had the pleasure of filming…they really are wonderful. Both Will and Sarah are very alike, which is a good thing, and they are so lucky to have equally caring and loving families to share their lives with. This was something that was very obvious on the day and it was a true honour to have been part of their day. It’s hard to believe they are both Doctors dealing with all that entails…tough jobs!

Not only are they lovely people, they also look gorgeous too…Sarah wore a stunning Sassi Holford dress and her hair and makeup was perfected by Kaz Fernando. She finished her look of with a beautiful pair of Louboutin’s. Will looked immaculate in traditional tails. They were married at Glanusk Estate in Wales, which is a little hidden gem of a country home, still lived in by the original family and stuffed full of the family memorabilia….it’s quirky without trying to be, we loved it.

We also got to meet the very funny, charming and talented Paul White who took the photo’s on the day….hope to meet again soon!

We’d like to wish Sarah and Will a life time of good luck and happiness, thank you so much for having us with you on the day, it was such a pleasure x

Kat and Tom – Chippenham Park

This wedding was beautiful, from the venue, the styling, the dress (another stunner from Suzanne Neville ) the friends, the bridesmaids….but most of all Kat and her great big smile she has. Kat and Tom, a professional Rugby player, chose to get married and have their reception at the very pretty and understated, family run venue of Chippenham Park. It was a slightly overcast but dry May Saturday, and their friends and family filled the place with happiness and laughter. They had a heart filled ceremony in the beautiful wedding room, drinks on the lawn and the reception in a huge marquee near the lake.

Kat, an event planner herself, had clearly spent a long time organising and designing the wedding, and it showed as the whole day ran to perfection and the couple were relaxed and happy. We had the great pleasure of working with Mister Phil photography, who did his thing quietly and happily…check out his photo’s here, they’re gorgeous!  Kat had also booked us as a bit of surprise for Tom, which thankfully he was happy with! In fact Tom was warm and welcoming, just like Kat, which is why they make such a great couple. They are lucky to be surrounded by friends and family who love and care for them, and this made the whole day such a pleasure to film. Thank you for having us there on the day and we wish you so much luck and love in the future X
