Vicky and Nick – Mount Stuart

First wedding of the year! And what a fabulous start it was. I travelled up to the Isle of Bute for Vicky and Nick’s beautiful wedding at Mount Stuart House….simply gorgeous. Vicky and Nick gathered their nearest and dearest, all making the journey and crossing on the ferry to the Island. It really was a breath taking venue and the chapel they were married in was bathed in pink  stained glass light, reflecting off the white marble. Lots of live music in the form of pipers, string quartets and band for the Ceilidh in the evening, topped off with spectacular fireworks in the evening. They both had put so much thought into the dy…it really paid off!

Everybody made me feel incredibly welcome and it was an absolute joy to work with Boyd who was the photographer for the day. A fabulous list of suppliers is below…take a moment to have a look as they all helped make the day very special.

Thank you Vicky and Nick for being so lovely to be around, I wish you lots of luck and love in your future together x

Shona and Jonny – Crossbasket Castle

Scotland!! We love a Scottish wedding, so we were so excited when Shona emailed us to see if we were free to film her wedding at Crossbasket Castle….of course we were!

The whole day was wonderful, both families so friendly and welcoming, and you can see just how important they all are to each other. Family was a big theme on the day and it made it very special. From the venue to the weather (the day previous was thick fog and rain!) it all came together to make a gorgeous day.

Shona chose the brilliant Jesus Peiro for her dress, one of my favourite designers, paired with Manolo Blahs shoes. The bridesmaids wore Maids to Measure dresses in a beautiful dusty pink colour. Flowers on the day were by Mood Flowers, who did a wonderful job. Make up was by Complection Perfection (not that they needed much….)

Jonny wore a kilt teamed with waist coat and jacket by Andrew Brookes tailor. His whole team of ushers wore kilts too…they looked pretty sharp!

After the heartfelt ceremony the pair left the church in a family sports car, complete with tin cans trailing behind, and led the guests back to Crossbasket Castle. The sun shone and we able to enjoy drinks on the terrace before heading into the reception inside.

The beautiful cake was made by Heathers Cakes and the entertainment in the evening included a traditional Ceilidh (our fave!!) and live music by Callanish. We left them in full swing and they no doubt partied the night away.

Www were fined by Euan Roberston who was the photographer on the day. He was an absolute delight to work with, hope we see you again somewhere Euan!

Thank you so much Shona and Jonny for having us with you; you made us feel so welcome and part of the day, it was a total pleasure to meet you all and share the day with you. Lots of luck and love for your future together xx

Ayla and Feti – Manor by the Lake

Have been looking forward to blogging this highlight! Beautiful Ayla and Feti got married in an outdoor ceremony at the gorgeous Manor by the Lake, Cotswolds, surrounded by family and friends. The day was swinging between thunderous downpours of rain and bright sunshine, but the luck of Gods were on their side and they managed to have their ceremony in the sun.

Ayla looked stunning in her lace Pronovias dress and Jimmy Choo shoes, while Feti chose Hugo Boss for his suit. The whole wedding was styled by the super talented Knot and Pop wedding planners, who as always, did an amazing job and really managed to reflect Ayla and Feti’s Turkish Cypriot heritage. Vervain were the florists on the day and their work was beautiful…so in love with the olive branch leaves and peach colours.

The evening saw confetti canons, live music and some wonderful Turkish dancing…the dance floor was packed!

M and J Photography joined us on the day, who were a delight to work with….hope we meet again somewhere! You can see some of the wedding here on Ruffled Blog….

Thanks so much for having us with you on the day, it was an absolute pleasure. Wishing you lots of luck and one in your future together xx

Jodie and Danny – Syon Park

I was so excited when Danny got in touch about filming is wedding, because it meant we got to work with my great friend Rebecca Goddard, who was taking the photo’s on the day, but also because the Venue was the beautiful  Great Conservatory at Syon Park, which always looks so pretty.  After meeting Danny and Jodie though, it was the fact they were so lovely that made the day very special, along with their wonderful family and friends…and of course super cute son!

Jodie looked amazing  in her Watters lace dress and gold sandals. She teamed this with a mermaid plait and a handmade, jewelled bouquet. The stunning flowers were provide by the ever talented Fariy Nuff Flowers. Danny (who if you’re a Rugby fan you’ll have spotted this already) was joined by several of his team mates and fellow England players, who naturally helps the party get off to a good start!

We were blessed with beautiful weather and gorgeous sunsets…and the party continued into the small hours. Thank you both for having along for the day and making us feel so welcome. It really was an amazing day! Wishing you both and Blake a wonderful future together xx

Lucy and Ollie, East Sussex

We absolutely adored this wedding. Everything about it was beautiful, but mostly Lucy and Ollie and their wonderful families, the people really did make this wedding. Everybody was so incredibly welcoming and friendly, and the sense of love and affection between the family members was very strong indeed…they’re a very lucky couple.

Lucy and Ollie got married at their local family church in Withyham, East Sussex, and they had their reception in a fantastic marquee at the bottom of Ollie’s family home. They were blessed with bright sunshine and warm weather. The gardens (which Ollie’s parents had spent months working on) looked stunning. They had lots of help from a family member, Holly, who really did an amazing job at co-ordinating and planning the day.

Lucy looked so beautiful in vintage Chanel shoes and a Halfpenny wedding dress….one of my favourites! We were joined on the day by Tom Ravenshear photography, who we worked with on one of our very first weddings. Was a real pleasure to see him again!

Thank you both for having us, we loved every minute and you were a delight to be around; and good luck with your fantastic TV career Lucy…will look out for future productions!! x

Vanja and Rafa – Mandarin Oriental

First blog post in ages!  We’ve been so busy filming this summer it really has been a challenge to keep the website up to date, but am so excited to be back to sharing some wonderful weddings again….this one especially as Vanja and Rafa had such a beautiful, heartfelt, elegant wedding, a perfect mix of Spanish and English in the heart of London.

Vanja and Rafa got married at The Mandarin Oriental, a truly wonderful venue who always make us feel welcome and their weddings are seamless. They had the expert planning services of Melanie from CranberryBlue Weddings, who are a delight to work with and who’s attention to detail is incredible….so lovely to see you again ladies!

Vanja got ready at home with the super talents of Kate Hughes on hair and makeup….who as always did a stunning job and Vanja looked breath taking.  Rafa got ready at Blakes Hotel which is a fantastic location. He and his fellow grooms men looked great in classic morning suits, a truly elegant affair.

The sun came out and drinks were had on the terrace, we even had a ride past by the Queen’s horse guard for her birthday! I love the fact you are in the heart of London  but surrounded  by greenery, such a great location.

We were joined on the day by Mike Garrad who was the photographer. We meet so many photographers and Mike joined the long list of absolutely wonderful ones to work with…thank you for being so lovely!

Thank you also for having us with you for the day Vanja and Rafa, it was such a pleasure. You, your friends and family made us feel warm and welcome and Rafa’s speeches and real emotions were wonderful to see.  I wish you every happiness in your future together xx

Elyce and Steve – Chateau Rigaud

It was such a treat to return to Chateau Rigaud again for Elyce and Steve’s wedding, as it’s such a wonderful, laid back venue; but also because Elyce and Steve were such lovely, fun, happy, relaxed people….there was no stress, no drama, no fuss…just a weekend of laughter and love. How every wedding should be!  I knew it would be a good wedding when I found out Elyce is Australian, as it always makes for a happy day. Our English humour and Aussie sense of laid back fun make for a great mix; and this was no exception.

Rigaud was as lovely as ever, with a wonderful team of staff making sure everything ran smoothly, and of course, amazing food! The beautiful flowers were supplied by Flowers in the Vines, Elyce’s dress was by Pronovias, gorgeous shoes by  Louboutin and not to be outdone, Steve’s amazing suit was from Richard James finished off with Mcqueen trousers.

We were joined by Mitchell Carlin who flew over from Australia to photograph the wedding, along with lots of Elyce’s family who made the long journey.  The evening entertainment was provided by the super talented Guy Preston on the decks and Andre “SaxMan” Brown….they did a great job…maybe too good as both myself and Beccy managed to disgrace ourselves on the dance floor!

Thank you both for being such lovely, kind and happy people…it really was a pleasure from start to finish. We wish you lots of luck and love in your future together! xx

Louise and Cy – Bloomsbury Ballroom

Beautiful Louise and Cy had their wedding ceremony in one of my favourite London churches, Clement St Danes on the Strand. Louise’s Dad was in the Raf so it was a fitting church for them to be married in. They then continued on The Bloomsbury Ballrooms for their reception, again, a wonderful venue full of Art Deco glamour and history. Both Louise and Cy were incredibly friendly and considerate all day, they really made it so easy for us to do our job. It was an emotional day for Louise especially, as she lost her much loved Mum a few years ago, but I’m sure she would have been so proud to see her daughter marrying the way she did, surrounded by family and friends.

The Ballroom looked stunning, especially with Cy’s lighting skills and a great party kicked off the evening entertainment. We were working alongside photographer Fiona Kelly and her assistant Emmie, who were an absolute joy! Thanks ladies for being so fun and easy to work with.

We’d like to wish Louise and Cy lots of luck and love in their future together, thank you so much for having us with you for the day xx

Maya and Rich – Hacienda Zorita

Not sure where to start with this one! When Rich emailed to see if we were free to film his and Maya’s wedding we were excited about it right from the start. Not only was the wedding a wonderful mixture of Hindu and Christian, but it was set over three days in the stunningly beautiful vineyard of Hacienda Zorita, near Salamanca in Northern Spain….so we were over the moon when they said they wanted to book.

Maya and Rich had planned the wedding weekend to perfection (well, probably more Maya…I think Rich was given the task of planning the “V”s…videographer and vicar…but we all know these are the most important parts right?…) They were joined by friends and family from all over the world and everyone came with the spirit of love and enjoyment, it was such a great weekend. Rich and Maya have a strong sense of fun and adventure (Rich travelled around the world in a TukTuk to raise money for an education programme), so it was never going to be your average wedding.  Even though I was jet lagged from flying in from Bali the day before, the atmosphere and welcoming nature of everyone there just made the whole weekend such a pleasure to film and experience. We loved the mixture of traditions and faiths, all with a Spanish twist. The sun shone and the food and wine were amazing. The Hacienda staff did an fabulous job at putting on this epic three day event.

We were joined by the wonderfully lovely Deborah Panes and assistant Jonty who were photographing the events alongside us. It is so great to meet people with like minds and who are easy and fun to work alongside…it really does make for such a great team. Thanks both for being so lovely and I really enjoyed our beers with the vicar in Salamanca town ;)   Deb’s also has a super talented brother, Roo Panes, who you sang the song in the clip…he’s one to watch!

With the help of a DJ flown in from the Canaries, every day was finished off with a proper good party and the dance floor was always full. Thanks both for being so great and happy and fun to be around….we wish you luck in your future travels and adventures together! xx

Suzanne and Sam – Aspen, Colorado

I often gush/bore my friends about the amazing weddings I am lucky enough to go to, and the wonderful people I meet and places I see…but this one is right up there, quite literally. I was so lucky to get to spend a week in the beautiful area that is Aspen, Colorado; to film Suzanne and Sam get married. Sam is a friend of another couple we filmed (Ashley and Daniel) earlier in the year and I was so excited when Sam emailed to see if I might be free to film his wedding too.

Sam and Suzanne live in HongKong, but travelled across to Aspen for their wedding weekend. They had chosen to have their ceremony and reception on top of Aspen mountain , on the beautiful SunDeck. They were joined by friends and family from all over the world, all coming to celebrate this wonderful couple. Apart from the views being simply amazing, the whole weekend had such a happy, excited, joyful and loving atmosphere…it really was perfect. They both have very special families.

The couple had some planning help in the form of EKS events, who kept everything running smoothly, including the cable car rides up the mountain (a personal first at a wedding!) and we were joined by the super talented Thayer Gowdy on the photography side…they were a dream to work with and made me giggle, always a bonus!

The Ceremony and Speeches were heartfelt and funny, the dancing unhindered, the sun shone, the smiles were plenty…thank you both so much for having us; it was an amazing week and a trip I won’t forget in a hurry. We wish you both all the luck and love in the world for your future together x
